Homemade Jamz Blues Band Car Muffler Guitars in Action

In this Homemade Jamz Blues Band video at the 2011 King Biscuit Blues Festival are car muffler guitars numbered 11 & 12. When the 19 year old guitar player, Kyle Perry, told the crowd of them, he pointed to the bass as #11 and his guitar as #12. He also told of how the original pair, which were made by his father, are in a B.B. King Blues museum.

I’m not sure, but I believe these guitar are the first to do something special that the prior models did not do. I can’t tell you because it will ruin the surprise, but I’ve already given you a hint in the title.

This was the last song they performed at the Bit-O-Blues stage on the corner of Perry & Walnut Street in downtown Helena, Arkansas on October 8TH, 2011. The Bit-O-Blues stage featured young kids playing old Blues standards. Even the final announcer (a grown up) said, “I think next year we need to see them down there!”, pointing towards the Main Stage area. I agree!

I hate to write something I’m not sure of, BUT (I am blogger!), I do believe this is a debut song by Homemade Jamz written while in the van on the road trip to this King Biscuit festival. I know one of the main lyrics is “People don’t do like they used to do”, so that might be the name of the song. It would be nice to say, “The Carroll Gazette brought it to you first. Eat that Rolling Stone!”

Also, this festival was the first time I had a 6′ Targa mono-pod attachment on my Flip Ultra HD video recorder, allowing me some great angles. Toward the end of the performance I just had a gut feeling the guitar player was going to play behind his head, I extended the Flip for the shot just as he removed his hat. It was worth the $15 investment.
